Nordic GPU grid hits 200MW wall, builders reroute
Denmark just paused new grid-connection agreements for high-load data centres until 2028. Energinet cites 12 GW of queued AI projects, double the current reserve margin. Microsoft’s Mistral deal shows the playbook, rent capacity where it exists, don’t wait for permits. For Nordic builders this means two things. First, the metal is here, but the electrons are not. Second, the race is no longer about who has the best GPU; it’s about who controls the last mile of power. If you’re still waiting for a grid connection, you’re already behind.
