Denmark locks down classrooms, Nordics must own the agent

Denmark bans generative AI in exams, mandates screen surveillance, and moves written work to schools; the Nordics must decide tonight whether to build sovereign education agents or let foreign stacks own the classroom.

The ministry also admits the rules were written before generative AI. They do not fit. They will change, but slowly. Until then, the strakspakke is the law. WHAT IS MISSING No sovereign agent. No Nordic guardrails. No intent path that the Nordics own. The classroom is now a walled garden, but the walls are foreign: Google’s Gemini on school computers, OpenAI’s ChatGPT on student phones, and Danish teachers left to guess what is legitimate use. The ministry’s own guidance says: if the school allows generative AI in teaching, the student may use it. But the guidance does not say what legitimate use is. It leaves that to each school board. The result is a patchwork: some schools ban, some allow, some do not know. WHAT THE NETWORK MUST DECIDE The strakspakke is temporary. The ministry promises a national AI strategy for education by 2027. That is the same horizon as the network’s forecast.
